Lisnr is an always-on voice recorder that encrypts recordings on your device, syncs them to your personal Google Drive, and optionally generates a daily AI diary using Google Gemini.
Lisnr records audio continuously while the service is running. Recordings are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM before leaving your phone. They are stored in your personal Google Drive appDataFolder (accessible only to Lisnr) and optionally on your device's local storage.
If you enable the AI Diary feature, your recordings are decrypted on-device and temporarily uploaded to Lisnr's Firebase Storage solely for processing by Google Gemini (gemini-1.5-flash). The audio is deleted from our servers immediately after your diary entry is generated. Google processes audio under Google's Privacy Policy.
To improve Gemini's speaker identification, you record three short voice samples during diary setup. These samples are stored in Lisnr's Firebase Storage. You can delete them by resetting your voice profile in Settings.
We collect your name and email via Google Sign-In (Firebase Auth). App settings are synced to Firebase Realtime Database under your account. Feedback messages you submit include your account ID and message text.
If you grant location permission, each recording is tagged with GPS coordinates and a reverse-geocoded address. This data is stored locally and synced to your Google Drive. Location data is never sent to Lisnr's servers independently.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Purchase tokens are verified by our Cloud Functions using the Play Developer API; we store your subscription status in Firestore. We do not store payment card details.
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports (stack traces, device model, OS version). No personally identifiable information is included in crash reports.
We share data only with the following service providers, solely to operate the app:
Your recordings remain in your Google Drive until you delete them. Voice profile samples remain in Firebase Storage until you reset your profile in Settings. Diary temp files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of creation.
You can delete your entire Lisnr account and all associated server-side data from Settings → Delete Account in the app, or by visiting our account deletion page.
Recordings are encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM before any network transfer. Encryption keys are derived using PBKDF2-SHA256 and stored in Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences, backed by the device's secure hardware when available. We use HTTPS for all server communication.
Lisnr is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance.
